Staring at the empty doorway, I’m not quite sure what to think so I lean back in the chair and blow out a slow and steady breath to calm myself. Colton’s never said anything like that to me before, and while everything he just said holds serious merit, I’m still astounded he said it. And while a small part of me warms, knowing he wants to take care of me, a larger part is irritated he’s laying down the law. The irony.

It doesn’t mean I have to abide by it though.

I look toward the ceiling and close my eyes momentarily. The many things I need to do run through my head, but I can’t do any of them because I can’t leave my house, can’t carry on my life like normal. I’m stuck here and that thought alone makes me feel claustrophobic.

I’m exposed to the world but trapped in my house.

Feeling defeated, my eyes flutter open to see the beach beyond the windows down below. And for the first time since we’ve met, I truly understand why Colton finds such refuge in his beloved beach—the crash of the waves, the feel of the sand beneath his feet, and the sense he’s this tiny blip on Mother Nature’s radar.

A soft chuckle falls from my lips as it hits me. On the beach, he feels inconsequential. How very fitting for a man who once told me I would never be that to him to have the need to feel that way at times.

My mind shifts back to that place and time. A ghost of a smile turns up my lips of the welcome memory of the Merit Rum party: dancing in the club followed by him chasing me into the hallway. Angry words. Contemptuous kisses. Hungry eyes. An elevator ride to the penthouse with a promised threat to decide. Yes. Or. No.

I find comfort in the memory. Without that night, there most likely wouldn’t be this. No Colton. No baby on the way. No chaos to want to hide from.

My eyes are drawn back to the beach. To the temptation of Colton’s place to escape. Sadly, right now, I couldn’t escape down there if I wanted to. At least he can get on his board and paddle out beyond the break to get some distance from the photographers. I’m not so lucky.

What I’d give to be inconsequential right now.

And yet deep down, no matter how hard I try, I know I will never be that to Colton. He’d never allow it. My handsome, complicated, and very stubborn husband takes too much pride in the two things he never thought he’d have—a wife and her love—to ever let me feel inconsequential again.

Reviewed A DIFFERENT SIDE by C.M Doporto (UNIVERSITY PARK 4) !!!!!!!

A Different Side (University Park 4) RAVEN RAVEN RAVEN !!!!!  Extraordinary !!! Unbelievable !!! I don’t know where to start, I have been dying to read this book ever since I started University Park Series. It’s from Raven’s POV. The author has outdone herself in this one, so much was captured in this book.

Everything is much more understandable right now and it makes sense. All the dots are connected and blanks are filled. I had so many questions about Raven’s behaviour in previous books, but after reading this one everything is settled, which I am really grateful for. Its like getting a closure. I love Raven much more now after knowing what was going on in his head… I mean how could you not ?

“I’m sorry that I nearly drank myself to death. That I was with those girls. That I was at Jared’s house when you asked me to never go there again. I’m sorry that I allowed your mom to get to me. That I let her convince me that I wasn’t good enough for you. But you have to understand, it’s not easy for me. When I look at you,” I lifted her chin, aligning our eyes, “I see this innocent and perfect woman that deserves a man that’s just as perfect. One that isn’t broken and shattered. A man without a tarnished past and with a bright future. And when I look at myself, I know I’m not that man.”

Ohhhh RAVEN !!!! Knowing the torment he went through and the demons he was fighting within was pure agony. He didn’t want that life, yet somehow he was dragged in it. I was so touched by his vulnerability. Knowing whats going on in his head gave clarity to the decisions he made. I NEVER NEVER want to get out of “Raven’s trap”.

To know Raven’s story, his struggles and constant battle with the demons within; Read “A Different Side by C.M Doporto” !!!!!

I am having withdrawals…. this book left me speechless…

I wouldn’t recommend this as a stand alone. I feel that to get the best understanding of University Park Series, all four books should be read in order.

Reviewed THE WINNING SIDE (UNIVERSITY PARK 3) by C.M Doporto !!!!!!

OMG OMG OMG The Winning Side (University Park 3)!!!!! I have no words to describe, how much I loved this book. There was so much drama I didn’t know what to expect next. And I honestly have no clue how to even begin to review this because…well…So. Much. Happened. I loved how the characters matured from the first book, especially how determined and independent Lexi grew. I started it when I woke and never put it down. It had me hooked. It’s definitely my favourite out of the three books. I am absolutely in “RAVENS TRAP” !!!!!! I loved how it was written, made me fall in love with all the characters.

After the incident, Raven and Lexi have a long road ahead of themselves. Lexi is willing to stand by him, fight his demons and help him retain his career even though, time and again, Raven runs in the opposite direction feeling unworthy of her love and affection.

“ With every decision, there are consequences — good or bad. I could only hope that Raven’s consequences would tilt to the favorable side.”

Will Lexi be able to TRUST him, this time?

Will the bad circumstances always keep them apart?

I loved, loved all the side characters (Luke, Delaney, Shelby, Josh, Shawn and Kyle) and I wish we get their stories too. It was happy, sad, funny at times, there was so much love and passion; It had me SWOONING !!!! I wanted more of this book and it ended too soon for me, but I am so excited to read Raven’s POV in next one (A DIFFERENT SIDE)

The Same Side is the next book in University Park Series. Its an emotional rollercoaster with so much drama. Lexi is not so timid anymore and she is not afraid to get what she wants. It picks up right where OPPOSING SIDE left off. I just had to start this book, as soon as I finished the part one. I enjoyed this book a lot more.

OMG OMG Raven and Lexi together finally. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!

After the Engagement is officially off, Lexi is free again. But to her freedom felt little tainted as nobody supported her choice, but her best friend Delaney. Things are strained with her family but she refuses to let it pull her down. After few weeks Lexi finds herself getting caught in Raven’s charm or you can say “Raven’s Trap” as she calls it. She continues to explore her new freedom with Raven and ticks off the experiences from her bucket list. Raven’s affection towards her and the passion in their relationship brought her to life.

This was a new territory for both of them, they were both scared and vulnerable. Feelings were growing deeper and the bond was getting stronger. Raven has his own past and problems to overcome. Lexi makes him want to be a better person in life, yet he doesn’t feel worthy of her love. Lexi feels dubious and insecure with Ravens past.

With Lexi’s family interjecting in the situation and trying to pull them apart, Will they be able to fight for each other and emerge on The Same Side ?

OPPOSING SIDE  is the story of college senior Lexi Thompson. A sweet, timid, quiet and innocent girl, who comes from a very strict family. She is raised in a very stringent atmosphere with a rigid set of values, where everything is pre-decided for her by her parents. She is 20 years old and engaged to Collin whom she has known all her life. After dating Collin for four years, it was expected out of her to get married to him. Review of THE UNIVERSITY PARK SERIES by C.M Doporto COMING SOON !!!!

This is my first book-series by Author C.M Doporto and I am very much hooked. She did an amazing job with this series. I enjoyed it, loved the characters and their innocence was heart warming. It was young and fresh. The series should be read in particular order.
