“Please!” she yelled out through her tears. “Please just let me go!”

She ran to the door and started to pound against it, desperate to get out—to get away from whatever danger awaited her. “Please let me out!”

Without warning, the lights went off, and Kim was once again surrounded by complete darkness. She continued to stand by the door in the dark and thought about the man who had been there earlier. He had taken her against her will, kidnapped her, and threw her inside this freakishly white room with nothing but a blinding light flicking on every time someone came in.

As Kim thought about it, her fear started to morph into anger. She felt it moving up inside her, and a long string of curses echoed through her mind.

“Fine!” she yelled out. “You want to keep me here in the dark, against my will, do it! But don’t think I won’t fight you,” she continued. “You won’t break me!”

As soon as the last word left her mouth, the lights went on again. Kim’s heart leaped up her throat, and it felt like she was unable to breathe.

Holy shit, why did it seem like her little outburst might have been a really bad idea?

The door unlocked, and Kim jerked back, staring like she expected that Jigsaw dude from Saw to come through it. With blood swooshing through her veins, pumped with adrenaline and panic, she scurried to the back of the room, pushing her back against the wall again.

He came walking in, wearing a gray suit with his dark hair sleeked back. He stared at her with eyes filled with amusement, yet he oozed menace. Everything about him had her on edge, and her skull prickled with warning.

“Well, donna, it seems that you have caught my attention.” A sly grin settled on his face.

“Let me go,” was all she could say, struggling against the raging fear in the pit of her stomach.

Kim swallowed hard and panic rose up in her throat when he moved toward her.

“There’s one thing you need to know about me, Miss Price, and that is that I love a challenge.” He stopped right in front of her, and she could feel his warm breath on her face. Nausea churned inside her, threatening to rid her body of the few bites of apple she took earlier.

His hand came up between them. Kim couldn’t stop the soft moan that escaped her as sudden fear possessed her. She closed her eyes, unable to look at him.

He grabbed her hair and yanked her head painfully to the side. Another groan moved across her lips, but this time soft sobs followed.

Ice-cold chills traveled down her spine when he leaned closer, tracing his nose up her neck. Kim heard him inhale as he took in her scent. When he reached the bottom of her ear, he whispered, “And I never lose a challenge.”

The promise—or threat—hidden in his words made her legs weak. The minute he let go of the fistful of hair he had clutched in his hand, Kim slid down the wall as her body gave way. Tears streamed down her face, and tremors wracked her body.

He leaned back. “You think I won’t break you? From where I’m standing, it looks like I already have.”

The arrogance in his voice caused her to stop her crying, and she lifted her head to look him in the eye. The way he stared at her, Kim knew he saw her as nothing more than a weak female who would never have the strength to stand up to him. How many women had he intimidated like that? How many women’s lives had he ruined because he thought he could play God?

She thought of the woman who had brought her food earlier, the thin blonde who seemed like she was just an empty shell. Had he done that to her?

With a slow movement, Kim got up on shaky legs and gathered her last ounce of strength. He curved a dark eyebrow, the arrogant smirk never leaving his evil face.

She took short, shallow breaths as her body primed itself for flight or fight. The only problem was, there was no chance of flight. She knew that. So, the only option she had left—was to fight.

Kim squared her shoulders and grabbed hold of the courage she knew was somewhere deep inside her. Kim steeled herself against whatever this man thought he could do to her. With determined eyes, she took one step toward him, her heart beating wildly against her ribs.

“You will not break me,” she spat out, the words giving her more strength than she ever could have imagined.

He just continued to stare at her for a few seconds before he started to stalk forward. Kim inhaled sharply as his scent surrounded her, his body mere inches from hers. He smelled like musk and whiskey. It instantly became the vilest scent that had ever filled her nostrils. She fought back another bout of nausea.

The smell grew stronger as he leaned closer, leering down at her with a glint in his dark malevolent eyes. His lips curved up into a devilish grin before he said in what sounded like a demonic whisper, “Challenge accepted, donna.”

5 DROP DEAD SEXY STARS !!

Drop Dead Sexy by Katie Ashley !!! OMG !!! I guarantee you a full belly laughter with this one. An exquisite romantic story with a lot of swoon worthy moments and refreshing humour, amidst a murder mystery. Isn’t it a complete package! It was dramatic when it came to Olivia Rose Sullivan’s family – they were hilarious and I loved her witty grandmother Pease. Even though it’s surrounded by a murder mystery, it was funny and cute. All the incidents one after another were ludicrous and unpredictable. I enjoyed this story a lot and had so much fun reading it. My jaw hurts, I laughed so much and even while writing this review I have a big smile on. A great lighthearted romantic entertainer. 

Meet Olivia Rose Sullivan ! Thirty year old mortician who ran the most successful family owned funeral home and the first female coroner of her county. Isn’t it interesting but in a small town, it was rather a curse. Growing up Olivia could never date a lot of guys, courtesy her family business and after growing up few horrific incidents put her through a rather long dry spell. Life is pretty much monotonous for her, until the day of her mothers lingerie shower. She decides to take matters in her own hands and ends up in a dingy bar in some other small town.

BOOK REVIEWED : The Bellator Saga by Cecilia London !!

5 REBELLION STARS !!!

THE BELLATOR SAGA : THE FIRST TRILOGY by Cecilia London !! This trilogy is hands down one of the best I have ever read. I was blown away with the story. The plot is sheer excellence and its execution is brilliant. The pattern focuses on the past and the present keeping you in synchronisation with the story. The characters and story gradually develops in all three books, creating a mystery that leaves you fixated and it also connects you immensely well with all the characters. Its a concoction of emotions, love, fear, gut wrenching pain, passion, humour, strength and so much more. Its so graphically detailed that certain parts of the story gave me chills. Yet another aspect of my fixation to Cecilia’s penmanship. The review will be brief, so as to maintain the thrill of the story and it should be read in a particular order:

Conscience is the second book in The Bellator Saga Trilogy. A continuation to Dissident. After reading the Dissident I needed this book like I needed my next breath. The story consumed me yet again. 

A Failed Escape Plan. The torture so unbearable it will shake your soul !

When the escape plan fails and Caroline is captured yet again by the officials, her worst nightmare is going to come true. These people are violent beyond imagination and will do anything to get the information they want. Their torture knows no bounds and they will break her physically and mentally if they have to. Caroline’s last ray of hope is that Jack will find her.

But as time elapses, the degree of torture increases and her strength to bear diminishes. Her loved ones are losing their lives and there is nothing Caroline can do. She dreams about the past, about what she had in her life, her family, her friends, the support and love she had and how she never thought, that life will change so drastically. REVIEWED : SET THE PACE (The Detroit Love Duet #1) by KIM KARR !!

In life there comes a time, when you want everybody to experience what you just did, which makes it impossible for you to shut up about it. The very same thing happened to me when I started reading the ARC of “SET THE PACE by Kim Karr “ I don’t have enough words to express the adrenaline rush I felt while reading this book. The characters, the story line, the build up is so dramatic and powerful, it sucks you right in. I couldn’t decide if I should read it fast or slow because I didn’t want the story to end and also I wanted to unveil the suspense. I am totally overwhelmed. To say that, I am in love with the book is an understatement. Knowing there is more to this story, I am totally dying here. I can bet my newest gucci, that once you start this story, you cannot put it down. This is one of those blockbuster stories that you should never miss. I don’t think giving it 5/5 stars is enough.

Reviewed SUBLIME AGONY by KORA ANDERSON !!

You know when you pick up a book and are like, “oh, I see where this is going”? Well…not gonna happen with this one !! 

Sublime Agony by Kora Anderson was unexpectedly good!!!  The story was intense, tragic, passionate and it drowns you in surprisingly unseen emotions.

The story opens up in the present time where Annalise Cass is a stripper at one of the elite strip clubs trying to make her ends meet for her Med School at Yale. Little does she know how her world will collide with Kason Wright, who is a young billionaire and owns half the city. (Unsuprisingly he also happens to own Mirage, where Annalise works) Intrigued by this raven haired, green eyed beauty, Kason propositions a fiery dom/sub arrangement and agrees to pay for her med school. 

It was meant to be strictly physical, as both of them have scarred pasts. Yet they slowly unfold their pasts and heal in each others shadow. The story also makes you travel in time, to give you the glimpse of Annalise talented, beautiful yet agonising past that had made her shift her life to another continent to start afresh.

MYBOOKLATTE’s REVIEW OF FALLING FOR KEN by LAUREN GIORDANO 

FALLING FOR KEN by Lauren Giordano is the first book I have read in the BLUEPRINT TO LOVE series, despite it being the second book. It can be read as a Stand-alone. I enjoyed this book and its full of surprises. It is heart-warming, innocent, romantic and passionate with enough mystery to keep you on your toes. On the whole, a complete dramatic entertainer, which had me hooked onto it the entire time. It was well written and executed. 4 Lurch & Wink STARS !!!!!

Kendall Adams aka Ken aka Kenny owns Adams & Rey Contracting Company, along with her step brother Lance (whom I wanted to smack repeatedly), passed onto her by her father. Kenny is a sweet, hardworking and a very intelligent woman with a double major in both Engineering and Music. She is confident when it comes to handling men at construction, yet so self conscious when it comes to her personal life. She is the driving force of the company, unlike her step brother, who is useless and a swindler. Kenny’s company is suffering from serious financial loss and it is on the verge of bankruptcy. Only person who can make or break her company is Harrison Traynor aka Harry aka CFO Speciality Constructions.

Harrison Traynor is a dream come true with emerald eyes and a sinful body. He has a blueprint ready for his life, and nothing deviates him from his master plan, until the day he met Ken. At the construction site, he gets caught in a mishap. To avoid the guilt and getting sued by his company Kendal takes him to the hospital. 4 Dreamboat Stars !!!!

These books were  addictive , thrilling, emotional , romantic, sexy , and everything I could want in a series.

After the cliffhanger from the first book, I was desperate to read this one.I knew it would be a helluva book, just could not put it down. It had enough drama to keep you on your toes. There were some really heart breaking moments in the story, but it wasn’t as intense or emotional like the first one. Definitely steamier thou.

As expected Natalie’s life was crazy after Aaron’s return, but what i like the most is that she was head strong about who she wants and she loves. Her love for Liam wasn’t circumstantial, it definitely wasn’t a consolation price. She didn’t go back and fourth between them. I like how she handled situations with Aaron, she did not lead him on at all and stayed true to her feelings.

DREAMBOAT…Liam Liam Liam… Just absolutely love his character. I adored the vulnerable side of him in this story, love knowing about his personal life. Liam and Natalie sure went through a hell in this one but they earned their happy ending. All the situations were beautifully handled.

I also loved all the side characters in the story. Individually all of them were very strong characters. Especially loved Rea, Mark and Quinn. Seeing Aron determined to get her back broke my heart a little. I hope Aaron gets his book too.. (Please Please Please CORINNE MICHAELS)

It was amazing to see how the story was developed and ended. On the whole it was a great read.
